Carbon Reduction

Carbon Reduction Plan

Mango Storage Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in alignment with UK Government targets. This Carbon Reduction Plan outlines our baseline emissions, current progress, and future strategies to reduce our carbon footprint.

Our commitments for a better planet

Our baseline year is 2022, with total emissions recorded at 161 tCOâ‚‚e. As of 2025, we have reduced emissions to 123 tCOâ‚‚e, representing a 24% overall reduction. We aim to achieve a 50% reduction in operational emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030, and project total emissions to fall to 80 tCOâ‚‚e by that time.

Key initiatives include the adoption of electric vehicles, installation of solar panels, and ISO 14001 certification. We continue to invest in energy efficiency, sustainable transport, and supplier engagement to reduce Scope 3 emissions.

This plan will be reviewed annually and updated to reflect progress and new opportunities for carbon reduction.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

Prior to 2022, the Mango Storage did not officially record its emissions. Our baseline year is 2022 (first year we measured and reported our carbon footprint).

Emissions reduction targets

We are targeting a 50% reduction in operational emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030, compared to our 2022 baseline.

To track progress, we will:

  • Publish annual carbon footprints
  • Review and update this plan yearly
  • Report internally to the stakeholders

To continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 80 tCO2e by 2030. This represents a 35% reduction from current emissions and a 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions relative to our 2022 baseline

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed measures (Since 2022)

  • Introduced electric vehicles (EVs) and cargo bikes for last-mile deliveries in London
  • New warehouse with solar panels and led lightning
  • Achieved ISO 14001 environmental certification across all sites

Current Initiatives (2024–2025):

  • Expanding EV fleet for storage and courier operations
  • Reducing energy use in warehouses through motion sensors & insulation improvements
  • Employee travel policy encouraging public transport, walking and remote working where possible

Planned Future Measures (to 2030):

  • Install solar panels on all warehouses
  • Engage suppliers on reducing Scope 3 impacts (packaging, inbound deliveries)
