Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

Mango Storage Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and the relevant Scope 3 categories by 2050, in line with the UK Government’s national Net Zero target.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Additional details relating to the baseline emissions calculations

Prior to 2022, Mango Storage Ltd did not formally record its emissions. 2022 is therefore the first year in which we measured and reported our carbon footprint, and is used as our baseline.

The emissions reported below have been estimated using operational data covering fleet usage, electricity consumption across four warehouse sites, employee commuting, business travel, purchased goods and services, upstream and downstream transportation and distribution, and waste generated in operations.

Emissions Reduction Targets

In order to continue our progress towards achieving Net Zero, Mango Storage Ltd has adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We are committed to reducing emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and the relevant Scope 3 categories (including Categories 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9) as part of our Net Zero strategy.

We project that our carbon emissions will decrease to approximately 80 tCO₂e by 2030. This represents a reduction of approximately 54% against our 2022 baseline.

To achieve these targets, we will:

Publish annual carbon footprints
Review and update this Carbon Reduction Plan annually
Report progress internally to stakeholders and the board
Continue transitioning fleet vehicles to electric and low-emission alternatives
Improve warehouse energy efficiency
Engage suppliers and delivery partners to reduce upstream and downstream Scope 3
emissions

Carbon Reduction Projects

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2022 baseline.

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

Introduced electric vehicles (EVs) and cargo bikes for last-mile deliveries in London
Installed LED lighting across warehouse operations
Introduced solar panels at selected warehouse locations
Achieved ISO 14001 environmental certification across all operational sites
Reduced unnecessary business travel through hybrid and remote working practices

Current Carbon Reduction Initiatives (2024 to 2026)

Expanding EV fleet for storage and courier operations
Reducing energy use in warehouses through motion sensors and insulation improvements
Employee travel policy encouraging public transport, walking, cycling, and remote working where possible
Reviewing route optimisation systems to reduce fuel consumption across upstream and downstream transport
Monitoring supplier and delivery partner environmental performance

Planned Future Carbon Reduction Measures (to 2030)

Install additional solar panels across warehouse sites
Continue replacing diesel vehicles with low-emission and electric vehicles
Engage suppliers on reducing Scope 3 impacts including packaging and inbound logistics
Engage delivery and last-mile partners to reduce downstream transportation emissions
Improve waste segregation and recycling rates across warehouse operations
Continue annual carbon reporting and monitoring

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
